Product description

This is the Kingdom GT topwater popper, a hard-bodied saltwater lure built for big gamefish like tuna and GT. It has a cupped face profile, the hallmark of a popper rather than a slim walking pencil bait. It comes in two sizes, 160mm at 56.5g and 180mm at 79.5g, and is available in six color patterns.

Worked with a rod-tip snap and pause, the cupped face pushes water and throws a splash or pop on each retrieve stroke, rather than the side-to-side walk of a pencil bait. Use a pause between pops to let the lure sit and draw a strike from fish holding below.

How to fish it

  1. Snap the rod tip down sharply to make the cupped face pop and spray water.
  2. Pause a beat or two between pops to let the lure sit still on the surface.
  3. Vary the cadence between quick double-pops and longer pauses to trigger strikes.
  4. Use a stout saltwater rod and heavy leader since this lure targets larger gamefish.

Frequently asked
