The floating sizes work well fished on the surface with a walk-the-dog style retrieve, while the 205mm 36g sinking version can be let down to depth and worked with a slower twitch retrieve. The slim pencil profile and added weight help it cast long distances into open water.
How to fish it
- For the floating sizes, work the rod tip side to side for a walk-the-dog action across the surface.
- Add pauses between twitches to let the floating pencil sit still before moving it again.
- For the 205mm 36g sinking version, let it sink to your target depth before starting a slow twitch-and-pause retrieve.
- Use the added weight of the larger sizes to cast further when covering open water.
