Product description

The Hunthouse Needle Stylo is a long-casting pencil lure built for distance and control. It comes in four size/weight combinations: 160mm 18g, 180mm 24g, and 205mm 31g in floating versions, plus a 205mm 36g sinking version. Fourteen color options are available.

The floating sizes work well fished on the surface with a walk-the-dog style retrieve, while the 205mm 36g sinking version can be let down to depth and worked with a slower twitch retrieve. The slim pencil profile and added weight help it cast long distances into open water.

How to fish it

  1. For the floating sizes, work the rod tip side to side for a walk-the-dog action across the surface.
  2. Add pauses between twitches to let the floating pencil sit still before moving it again.
  3. For the 205mm 36g sinking version, let it sink to your target depth before starting a slow twitch-and-pause retrieve.
  4. Use the added weight of the larger sizes to cast further when covering open water.
