This 110mm suspending minnow is built for anglers who want a jerkbait that hangs in the strike zone instead of rising or sinking away from a following bass. The slim minnow profile and tight wobble mimic baitfish like shad or shiners, making it a natural fit for largemouth and smallmouth that key on forage fish in clear to moderately stained water.

Product description

This 110mm suspending minnow is built for anglers who want a jerkbait that hangs in the strike zone instead of rising or sinking away from a following bass. The slim minnow profile and tight wobble mimic baitfish like shad or shiners, making it a natural fit for largemouth and smallmouth that key on forage fish in clear to moderately stained water.

Fish it with a twitch-pause retrieve along drop-offs, points, and grass edges, letting the suspending action hold in front of cautious fish. It also works as a reaction bait around schooling bass in open water. The through-wire style hook hangers and treble rigging are designed to handle solid bass without pulling loose during a hard strike.

How to fish it

  1. Cast past target cover such as points, drop-offs, or grass lines.
  2. Reel down to take up slack, then work the bait with sharp twitch-twitch-pause cadence.
  3. Let the bait hang motionless during the pause, especially in cold or clear water where bass are less aggressive.
  4. Vary pause length and twitch speed until you find the retrieve that triggers strikes that day.

Frequently asked

The 110mm length is a versatile size for both largemouth and smallmouth bass, matching common baitfish sizes without being too bulky for smaller fish to strike.

In clear water, natural shad or silver patterns tend to work best since bass get a good look at the bait. In stained or off-color water, brighter or higher-contrast patterns like chartreuse or gold help bass locate the lure.

A medium action spinning or casting rod with 8 to 12 pound fluorocarbon or monofilament line gives good action to the bait while still allowing solid hooksets on the trebles.

Suspending jerkbaits shine in cooler water, early spring and fall, when bass are less willing to chase a fast moving bait but will strike something that pauses right in front of them.
