Soft plastics like worms and jigs work better in summer heat, cold fronts, or heavily pressured lakes where bass want a slower, more natural presentation.

Spinnerbaits work best in wind, murky water, or around scattered cover where the blade's vibration and flash help bass find the bait even when they can't see it clearly. Topwater is better saved for calm mornings and evenings in clearer water when bass are actively feeding near the surface and can visually track the bait.
